Just updated to the Samsung Note4 from a SG5 and SG4 before that with many other Android phones. I've been running into the issue that I can't find anyone else reporting or a resolution to and hope someone here can help. I listen to podcast or Pandora. Unfortunately this version of Samsung Android, does not allow setting any other application as default for music or media playing. When ever I connect through earphones, or Bluetooth the Music app automatically plays. Even when another audio app is running and when using either the earphones or Bluetooth button to pause or play will automatically start up the Music app and start playing. I've partially stopped this by adding Bluetooth Connect & Play app from the Play Store. This is just a small fix that doesn't always work. Interestingly enough when I turn off my car after listening to a Podcast or Pandora, I turn off the radio 1st to disconnect from the Bluetooth and also stop it from starting backup when I get in, t...

I'm trying to swap my Google Voice and Verizon phone numbers. In other words, I have a NYC phone number on Verizon with a year of contract left. But I got a google voice number for L.A., where I live now. Since I've been getting more and more calls/messages on my L.A. number, I just want to make the L.A.(google voice) number my permanent Verizon number. But without losing my NYC number to the void. Problem is, Verizon says that they can port in the L.A. number no problem but they have to let the NYC number go. If I try to port the NYC number to Google Voice, Verizon will charge an early termination fee$$$. Does anyone know a workaround for this? In order to get the most out of my FireTV/Kodi setup, last week I switched to Comcast cable for their 105mbps service. The first few days, Speedtest.net showed a download speed of around 50mbps on both my computer and my FireTV. Last night, I was experiencing some buffering issues, which had totally disappeared the first few days with Comcast, so I did some more speed tests. I was excited to see speeds of 125mbps on my computer, but totally bummed to see that my FireTV was only reporting around 7 or 8mbps. Why would there be such drastic performance differences between my computer and my FireTV? When i plug my phone in to charge while it is off it powers on by itself so i cannot charge it while its off, last night it went into a forever loop because it didnt have enough power to completely boot up and it wouldnt charge when it was off, so it was really annoying i ended up getting it to stay on long enough to reboot into recovery and let it charge in recovery for a few minutes,. When i flash another kernel the phone will charge when its off no problem, so its something in the kernel i am wanting to use the agni kernel so my question is , is there a setting or something in the kernel tweaks or whatever that i can change to allow the phone to charge when its off Because my phone runs the best with the agni kernel and i would really like to keep it....I just flashed the devil kernel on there and it charges fine i just want to know if theres a setting to change. Howdy all, just brought myself one of these. Had plenty of phones previous, so comfortable with rooting/soff recovery etc. I hate the sense stuff that HTC put on the phones but love the hardware. Is the CM11 ROM up to daily driver standards? Not fussed about lollipop as its turned my nexus 4 into a pile of crap, also I notice there is a 4.4.2 GPe ROM would this be a better choice? Just switched to tmo and purchased a 64gb Nexus 6 from Motorola. Should be here next week. I had a few device & carrier questions being this is my first Nexus device (besides tablets) I will be using this device on T-Mobile but it's from the Moto store. Who will I be getting updates from? T Mobile or Google directly? I plan on flashing a custom rom (most likely Pure Shamu from what I've gathered) being that one model of nexus supports all carriers (radios).. I read that T-Mobile will be pushing an update to support wifi-calling (which I need in my home). Will that work on my particular device or is there a specific T-Mobile Nexus that I'd need? Lastly, I do use wifi tether quite a bit, and on my current devices rom they have the unlimited wifi tether hack. Is that something built into a rom or has to be done separately? Ok I did an upgrade on Euphoria rom (OTA) yesterday and managed to lose my data . I just get an ! mark. So I went right back to stock and I'm now on 5.01 with no rooting ,i even locked my bootloader . Still no data . After checking the APN settings were correct I thought it maybe my old sim given up as it was one I cut down form a micro , so off to Three I went and got a new shiny nano sim but its still the same. If I drop into the handset a 02 sim it works . I have no idea Ive fully wiped formatted etc . It seems to be a three to nexus problem . Hi all, This is probably the #4829 post with identical topic, a very common issue, but unfurtunately this time i wasn't able to solve it alone so any help will be appreciated. I own a i9506 (LTE-A edition) S4. until now with a 4.3 ROM. I was forced to encrypt the device by Microsoft Exchange services and lock it with a code, after a while i decided it's time to upgrade to a new firmware and downloaded a brand new ROM which i found in xda. I flashed twrp and the new rom, rebooted the device and viola, it freezed on the i9506 logo screen. i tried a different kernel which led me to the code locking screen, every time i tried to type something, it gave me "keyboard stopped" error. I have stock ROM Android version 4.4.2 and have rooted my device using CF-autoroot, I flashed the img file of CWM 6.0.3.2 using the app Flashify and was then asked "ROM may flash stock recovery on boot. Fix?" when rebooting to system and answered with "Yes - Disable recovery flash". When the device rebooted I was returned to CWM and everytime I reboot I return to CWM so I flashed TWRP using ODIN, yet when I reboot I return to CWM and can only reach TWRP if I click on Advanced>reboot to recovery. My sister just had her old One X stolen, and I want to give her my old Evo 4G LTE. I had used this with Sprint, but when my Sprint contract expired, I both ended my Sprint service and bought a Nexus 5. So I haven't used it at all since then, and didn't go through any "unlock" process with Sprint, but did unlock it myself long ago using LazyPanda's unlocker. I was also thinking of putting the latest Lollipop CM on it before giving it to her. Having tried a few LP roms (loved them all) missed some of the Sony stuff mainly the camera I reverted back to 4.4.4 and I'm still having screen issues? Which makes me wonder if the problem lies outside the ROM and is hidden the boot.img? and because its newer when you flash an older ROM it doesn't update this, I'm no dev and was wondering if this could be the cause of the problem, like back when unlocking boot lost the camera. So I tried updating from 4.4.3 to 4.4.4 OTA and for some reason during/after the install the screen went blank and I am now unable to turn the phone on. I tried holding the volume down and power button for two minutes but the screen stays black and I don't get any vibrations. I rooted my HTC Desire 816 following this guide , and then placed Carbon ROM onto my SD card. When I try to install the .zip from recovery, though, I get this error message: This package is for device: a5, a5tl, a5dug, a5dwg, a5chl, a5ul; this device is htc_a5dug. when I try to create a USPS shipping label from my android device, the label seems to print out too small. Is there a way that I can control the print out so that it prints normal size? How to properly integrate updates into ROM of SONY XPERIA apps like album, Walkman and Movies? Whenever I use Titanium Backup, Link2SD, or other apps, camera stops functioning, and album and walkman doesn't have any cover/thumbnails. Clearing cache/dalvic-cache never helps, and from what I have understood it must be a 'libs' problem, beacuse whenever I integrate theme, the symlinks from /data/data folder point out to nowhere. Also, I have tried to manually replace/move the 'libs' from /data/app-lib to /system/lib, but achieved nothing. Is there anything else I can do? Thank you. Hello all, I need some help. I bought a used S4 from a local person here. It was on an old update, Version 4.3. I rooted it, did not take the OTA. installed custom recovery and flashed latest NK2 via philz touch, at first the WiFi wasnt working, so I installed the wifi fix/NON-HLOS.bin via odin. I also installed Modem.bin to upgrade to the latest baseband of NK2 also. This is when the trouble started, I probably messed up. Currently both baseband and build are now NK2 I've downloaded NK2 TAR and flashed them back to t-mobile stock in an effort to fix, I used triangle away, cleared the counters, flashed stock NK2 in odin. Still no sound through the speakerphone. It was working before I did all this so I don't think its a hardware issue, Anyone have any ideas? Best I can tell is its probably the NON-HLOS.bin I flashed. Is there a correct one I can do, or anyway I can fix this? I've tried all I know with my limited knowledge of this phone. I had first flashed modem.bin i found...

This is a flashable Odin ROM under Tizen. Nothing has been done except rooting. http://bit.ly/1Kgsvhh This is only for the first Gear model. Download the ROM Put your Gear in download mode : press the power button and wait the Gear to shutdown, then press quickly the power button 5 times. Push the power button to select Download. Press and hold the power button 3 seconds approx. Plug the Gear on its cradle and connect it to the PC. Launch Odin 3, click on AP and select the ROM. Wait for Odin to be ready then press Start. Hi everyone, I have this HTC Vivid that I rooted myself and flashed kitkat (pacman roms) about a year ago. I want to revert back to the stock rom but I have lost the stock rom and I've researched a lot and the steps I took was to relock the bootloader which I did. Currently the phone just boots to the bootloader and nothing else. I havent done rooting or anytime of android hacking in a long time so please try to guide me step by step. I want to revert back to the stock rom because the kitkat was very glitchy and I couldnt update either. Phone was working fine till i disconnected it from charger and after 2 hours it turned off somehow. He is tottaly dead i tried to change battery, tried to boot but nothing dont work, displey dont want to turn on, when i put it on charger the light dont turn on... I am new to MOJO. I just rooted using the method suggested on the mad catz site. I am playing gameloft games like Modern Combat 5. My issue is that my WIFI connection is awful and drops in and out. I have the mojo hard wired with ethernet, but modern combat 5 keeps saying i need to be on wifi to play multiplayer. I change to mojo to wifi, and turn off ethernet but the connection is too unstable to continue. Is there a way i can make the mojo think its on wifi but just use my hardwire connection? It seems alot of the gameloft games require a wifi connection at some point. I understand it wants a more stable connection than 3g/4g but i wish there was a work around for hardwired devices. I have an XT1058 that had tons of videos and pictures. Those vidz/pix disappeared and more disappear as new ones are taken. There is probably 4-5gb of stuff missing, and 7gb free on the device. Since I can't root the device, I can't run any file recovery software locally and all of the windows-based ones require it to be mounted as a drive letter. I've had the xperia z2 phone for about 3 weeks now,and i must say its a pretty descent phone. But i cant help asking myself whats so special about this phone that i paid so much for?. Its indisputable that the z2 is a highly spec'd phone with the gorgeous screen and all,but when talking smartphone,its not all the internal specs that matters,the build quality does matter too,which IMO the z2 doesnt possess. I mean come to think of it,z2 is one of the most complained about smartphones out there,not to mention... ~The spaces found between the metal frame and the glass panel,in-which my phone also have + the back glass got replaced,making it more susceptible to water damage and what not! ~The issue of self cracking,although i understand its of minority,but com'on! Its worrying ~Overheating issues,i know this have been addressed already in several places,a phone like the z2 should be able to withstand some average period of 4k recording without overheating,not just few minutes. ...

I've tried to unlock the boot loader of my HTC one m7 to no avail. I tried unlocking it via htcdev but after wiping my phone, my boot loader still remained locked. is there any alternative way of unlocking the boot loader without htcdev? I saw one that involved typing some commands in fastboot but I'm afraid that might wreck the phone. Ok i have an lgms323 runing on 4.4.2 kitkat and ive tryed a multitude of diffrent root approaches. I recently moved to Italy and saw a decent promotion with Samsung which offered a €200 rebate when buying a Note 4 or Note 4 edge if you have a Note I, II, III or S4. This seemed quite good as Amazon sold the Note for a decent price. All well and good until I'm trying to claim, the Note 4 I bought is Italian and so that is fine but the S4 I have is not being accepted as it is not Italian. I did read the terms and conditons earlier and I can't really see where it says that the original phone also had to be Italian but as I don't speak any Italian and can't ring Samsung up I'm a bit stuck. I have tried a few newer RUU's since I'm on 3.16 bootloader and S-ON. When I go to flash using the RUU utility, it doesn't show any installed rom...because there IS no installed ROM! Therefore, it fails. As you can see below...there is nothing showing in version-main. Any idea on how to fix this??? The phone isn't bricked...there's just no rom installed. Should I use TWRP instead??? What RUU should I be using???? I have a MOTO G from Wind Mobile (XT1034)... I put cyanogenmod on it and I was not getting service. I put it back to the stock firmware and now im still getting no service and it says XT1032 when I plug it into my computer. I think I installed the XT1032 stock firmware instead of the XT1034... Hello, I had a verizon samsung galaxy s5 and I had some files and pictures hidden in the private mode. I switched carriers and got the galaxy s5 for sprint and did a reset for my Verizon device because I sold it but before I did the reset I moved all the files inside the device to the SD Card. So now is there a way I can get those files and pictures that were hidden in the private mode? P.S. I completely forgot that I had some stuff in the private mode so the private mode wasn't on when I did the rest or when I copied all the phone files to the SD Card. Please someone help me with this. Hi there, I recently installed XZDualRecovery on my device and activated the encrytion of internal storage. Unfortunately, TWRP is unable to mount the encrypted internal storage. Hi, I'm planning to root my Incredible S, but keep the stock ROM. I use the stock book reader a lot and make a lot of highlights, which I don't want to lose with the other user data when I unlock the bootloader. Is there any way by which I can backup and restore those highlights? My guess is that they are stored in a database somewhere, but how can I find out? and will I be able to access those files on an unrooted device? Has anyone tried such a thing? Hello all, I think I may have hard bricked my s4 but I can still get in to stock recovery and odin mode (download mode?) so Im sure. I've gotten out of soft brink many times but this one is winning and it's my daily driver. I'm fairly sure I partitioned ROM Slot-1 in Safestrap to small for the intnended ROM. Upon trying to reboot or power up I get black samsung custom screen and I have to pull batt to procede with only two choices: stock recovery and a file from my sd card or odin mode with proper zip file and procedure. Kies doesnt recognize and I've tried going back to NC5 through odin but that fails. I've reflashed the vrunk1 kernel and it doesnt fail but blk custom screen interupts and freezes the process. Sorry this might be off topic but I think I've seen some pictures of people using 2 Sims with an sd card on the ascend mate 7 but unfortunately no one has really come up with the correct way to do it without problems. Pls for those that have already done it kindly post the detailed procedure here. I have an idea though so I'll just post the little I know 1. Backup your SIM contacts and msgs. 2. Hold the SIM with a pair of scissors or pliers and heat the plastic part under the chip with a tiny flame to remove the chip. 3. I saw someone recommend scratching the sd card on a rough surface. Pls don't do it as it will damage your card. Damaged my 64gb card for me and is actually the reason I haven't finished the mod yet. 4. Glue the SIM chip to the sd card and try inserting into the phone. It might be a bit tight but with a little effort it should slot in. 5. Hy, On day one i did a nandroid backup of my stock htc m8 european rom. Then i flashed custom recovery and roms... I am S-ON Each time a new android version (or sense) was launched, as i am S-On, I re installed my original stock rom to get the latests OTA and FIRMWARES !:D All has always functionned perfectly ! The i returned again on custom roms (with new firmware ) ! :D Till yesterday i decided to do the same process to get the last lollipop ota : return to stock recovery + stock rom + ota +ota +ota... But a problem occurs after the second OTA installation (2.22.401.5 (613 mo) to android 4.43) ! My Phone has no more wifi access and i can't go further....:crying: I spent all my night readiig and reading forums, checking everything (stock recovery, erase cache, bootloader relocked, full wipes...) .. Hello, all! I'm currently using an app called Talking Clock, and love it in the morning. My only problem is that I go to bed with flat pillow speakers plugged into the headphone jack, and they're not strong enough to wake me in the morning., when Talking Clock starts announcing the time. I'm trying to find a way to force the audio from Talking Clock to always use the phone speakees, or simply to force all audio output to go through the speakers from 6:00 am to 8:00 am. I had thought that tasker might hold the solution, but if it's there, I'm not seeing it. Searching through the app store left me with no solutions, and Google didn't seem to help much either. Everything so far has been tried on a stock note 3, but I'm upgrading to the edge tomorrow evening, so we'll say that's what I have, lol. So, I read, watch videos, it all seems very easy. my main laptop is mac, I saw a mac version to root..did not work for me. I have a 3 year old toshiba running windows 7. I installed the latest drivers...I tried odin 7 and 9. The Note hooks up to odin (get the connected comm light) and attempts to root with CF. What happens is it started to root, progress bar on phone moves about 1/8" and just sits there... waited up to 10 minutes and no dice. I tried different cables etc. I pulled out my old s4 and was able to root / unroot with no issues. The only thing I do not know, when I connect the note, I get a message that says it would perform better on an USB2 port? I do not know if its USB 1, 2 or 3??? Just trying to figure out if I should pick up a cheap laptop (newer) to try to root? Hello everyone, I was wondering if there is any app, that isn't an Xposed module, that can control Notification Priority settings for given apps. Specfically, I'm looking for a way to control that forsaken Facebook Messenger app that ALWAYS puts messages at the top of notification drawer, which can get really annoying when even the ongoing music player notification is beneath it. App Settings offers such a feature, but I'm trying to find alternatives to Xposed for reasons that I probably don't need to mention. Hey guys, I had this idea I wanted to run by the community for feedback before I really started digging into it. I attend PAX East every year and love being able to do Bring Your Own Computer for the LAN fest area. The big problem is my distance from Boston and the size of my PC Tower. Rather than focus on the biggest and beastest of Rigs, I wanted to try the other side of the formula. The nSHIELD Portable is a decent little machine and seems to have less hardware issues than its newer nS Tablet does. What I want to eventually do is load Ubuntu onto it which would allow me to load Steam and then hook it up to the LAN network at PAX and play games with the other attendees. I currently have a Portable and am just looking for new ways to get more life out of it. So today I finally got my phone back from repair, but now the mic doesn't work anymore.. I called a friend of mine but he couldn't hear me, called 2 others and after that my telephone at home: always no mic, they can only hear me when I turn on the speakers. Same goes for the stock voice recorder app, no microphone. Yet it works in whatsapp, does WA use another microphone, same goes for calling with speakers on: does the phone have 2 mics? Also when I shout like veeery loud into the microphone and record it, I can hear it, but only when I shout directly in it. I read that I should use a air cannon thingy (dunno what it's called) to blow the dirt out of the mic, but I don't think that it is full of dirt after the repair.. The next day ALL of his apps AND Gevorg Sayadyan were gone. I also can't figure out why. One was Gear Fit SMS, Gear Fit Note, and the other was Gear Fit Media Player. I rooted my device to get access to lots of new features, now though I desperately want to go back. I have followed step by step all the advice of the Unlocker guide. However whenever I attempt OTA it boots into fastboot. It doesn't update. How can I ensure it doesn't boot into factboot? Hi everybody, I need your help... I'm a total newbie and training on my good old Galaxy S I9000. I followed many guides but always get stuck at the same point: when installing the CM 11 (tried M10, M11, M12) the open robot with red triangle appears, reboot and all over again. Below the sequence of steps of the last tentatives: 1) install stock ROM I9000XWJW7_ITA_ValuePack_Gingerbread-236 with Odin, ok 2) install ClockWorkROM recovery CF-Root-XX_OXA_JW4-v4.4-CWM3RFS via Odin, ok 3) copy CM in the external SD 4) start recovery, wipe cache, data etc 5) launch installation 6) red triangle... I tried two different stocks and related recoveries, everything works perfectly unless the CM installation. As it happens always exactly at the same point I guess I'm doing something specific wrong, but really cannot figure out what. Can we port somehow the McAfee with Killswitch to AOSP? Sure, we've hacked our way through to get AOSP and the least we can expect is tampering security, but as the LG G3 has some sort of lock-down module for the recovery and download mode, we could make use of that and disable TWRP and download mode while our phone is lost. I have decided to dink the coolaid and dump AT&T and move to the dark side, being Verizon. Looking at their phones, I do like the look of the Note Edge. I cannot find anything on XDA about the Note Edge. I was just wondering if it is the same (other than the screen) hardware wise as the Note 4. So it's been about 2 months since I got my tab s 10.5 and is the sprint variety . The issue I'm having is that randomly throughout the day I'm using the tablets and the screen gets completely unresponsive . Touches won't work the soft keys don't work . The only thing that works is the home button ,the power button and the volume up/down . I can fix it by locking it and unlocking the screen and then everything works again but as you use it the same things happens and you have to lock/unlock to fix it . I've already tried to factory reset it but it doesn't help . I don't know if is software or hardware issue since is fixed by locking/unlocking the screen. I managed to use giefroot root my D6603 (US version) on firmware 23.0.1.A.5.77 by downgrading to 23.0.A.2.93 without wiping the whole /data. This is what I did: ( Try at your own risk! ) 1 Backup the contacts first. The contacts data will be cleared. 2 Use Flashtool to flash D6603_23.0.A.2.93_Generic_20GLOBAL.ftf. Uncheck wipe DATA . 3 Restart the device. There will be lots of annoying force close popups. For me, only two packages were reported closing: android.process.acore and android.process.media . USB debugging doesn’t work either. 4. Just close the popups and go to Settings – Apps – All. Find “ Media Storage ” and press “clear data” to get rid of FCs of android.process.media. USB debugging should work now. 5. Find “ Contacts Storage ” and press “clear data”. No more FCs of android.process.acore. After this, no more FC popups for me. It looked normal on fw 2.93 and I tried many times to use giefroot v2 but failed. It seems like that the system exploit app CVE-2014-7911 will crash...

So has anyone figured out how to unlock the software restrictions to make the shield tablet LTE usable as a phone? :) I want to buy it but I would like to have the option to use it as a phone in an emergency if something happens to my phone. So I opened up the framework-res.apk and noticed in the colors.xml file that both material light and material dark hex codes are already present. What is telling android to use the light theme? Shouldn't there be a way to toggle between light and dark? I am thinking there should be an easier way than tricking the system by swapping hexcodes out.
