I'm trying to swap my Google Voice and Verizon phone numbers. In other words, I have a NYC phone number on Verizon with a year of contract left. But I got a google voice number for L.A., where I live now. Since I've been getting more and more calls/messages on my L.A. number, I just want to make the L.A.(google voice) number my permanent Verizon number. But without losing my NYC number to the void. Problem is, Verizon says that they can port in the L.A. number no problem but they have to let the NYC number go. If I try to port the NYC number to Google Voice, Verizon will charge an early termination fee$$$.
Does anyone know a workaround for this? The Verizon guy was actually trying to help but he didn't know of any way to do it. Do I just have to let my NYC number go?
